For dogs and cats who have grown up in a rural or remote Indigenous community, getting rehomed to an urban or even a non-Indigenous community can be challenging. That is why Chief Naasathluk (John Rampanen) of Ahousaht suggested that we try creating a platform where dogs and cats can be rehomed from one Indigenous community to another.

Given that many communities face challenges with overpopulations of dogs and cats (dog bite incidents, increased human/wildlife conflict potential, etc.), we ask that all animals are spayed or neutered before they arrive at their new home/community.

Bella is looking for a new home! She is currently caring for her pups but soon she will be spayed and ready to move into her new home. Bella is maybe 2-years old and spends most of her time free-roaming around her island community.
